I'm pretty sure that Ishihara said there will be over 700 pokemon with the addition of the generation 6 monsters. This makes me think that the number will fall short of 800, otherwise he would have said 800 or over 800. Probably in the mid 700 range is where we'll get to this generation.
It's possible. I remember Gold/Silver claiming that they introduced "dozens" of new Pokemon instead of just flat-out saying that there were 100, which sounds like better marketing, but then you'd probably have complaints that Celebi was unobtainable and crap like that.
So I dunno, I'm estimating it to be around the 110 range (putting the total at 760-something), but it could be more. It's not as if we have any sort of facts to base this on, other than the pattern we've seen in the past of odd generations having more than even ones, and this gen hasn't has as much time to come up with and finalize designs as previous ones have.
If you actively hate Justin Bieber... then you don't know what "intended audience" means. Hate Twilight instead, it's far worse.
