I'll always keep my starter in the party. It feels weird without it.
I completely agree.

I used to but one day as a kid I realize why do I need to stick to this starter? Kinda of an eye opener. So chances are I box'ed them after playing though the game once. I Kept pikachu, totadile, probably blazeken. Didn't like the last 2 gens.

However, I recently finished a game of FireRed that I started much earlier.
I COMPLETELY revised my team, having such Pokemon as Jolteon, Kabutops, Nidoking, Rapidash, and (I forgot).
Originally it was Blastoise, Primeape, Kadabra, Vileplume, (I forgot the rest).
I ended up enjoying it a ton, and it made Jolteon my new favorite pokemon (sometimes it got 5 speed in a level up). --- Pretend this signature is a basilisk. You are now dead. Official Jolteon of the Eevee Corps. Official Jolteon of the Pokemon X Board Kraid: (steps on you)

I rarely release or permanently box my starters for the reason that my first Pokémon in each game is essentially my companion; I have them always by my side. I even remember my first starter, Wildfire the Charizard - Until my Red version's cart battery died. Rest in peace, old friend. --- I approve this message.

Nope. It would feel like I'm abandoning my best friend.
Dem feels...I know them.
I've begun to do research on the starters beforehand, so I can soft reset for the nature I want and get an idea of the moveset. (Did that for B2W2)

My starter doesn't get boxed until I really start getting into Wifi battles and post-game battle frontier/subway/PWT stuff --- Official Donphan and PoliceMan Bob of the B/W 2 Boards and Black Club of the KI:U boards.

Nope. I could never do it, I always have my core team of six, and then all the others I catch for the Pokedex. --- "My plan was perfect. But there was one thing I overlooked, one factor I failed to calculate. He's a dumbass. And there's no accounting for dumbassness.

Yes, especially in Unova... I hate all of the starters in the region. --- MK:Wii FC:3352-0084-4113; name: Rock Lee Runescape name: Taco Warior5
