I don't believe it.

See? Even Naruto doesn't BELIEVE IT!!!!!

Ugh, I hated how they localized that. The whole point of him saying "dattebayo" is that it had no meaning and was completely off the wall strange.

Oh well, that's why the raws exist.

Funny coincidence you mention that, I use "dattebayo" to mock weeaboos.

Wow it's been so long since I watched that show.
I was at like 300 or 350 of the Japanese subbed and was like... god this isn't going anywhere.
=/
Anyway, what would you guys (and you, Ultima) think about tossing out possible names for evolutions of the starters (assuming they follow those progressions)?

Like, Sphoenix. Or Anuburn. Anublister. Of course, we don't know what they'd look like or if these are accurate, but if it helps, Ultima, I think we can come up with some good stuff.
Spharrow. Fireoah.

Genernut. Corpowal. (God please don't make it that) Colonut.

Anaqua, Anuraqua, Aquanura... relating it to a wizard could be tough, I mean most games have "cold" or "ice" wizards but no "water" ones except healers. And that's no fun.

The descriptions he gave us regarding the water type as wizard may be wrong, sage would be more likely, or a monk, they look similar but the monks specialize in fighting moves, which we saw in the trailer.

Anyway, the TC may be close but I don't think 100% accurate for those starters.

Egyptian for Fennec fox, well the germans call it Fynx, so maybe a Sphinx?

Chespin, has iga in it's name, so definitely a warrior of some type.

I think he actually may be right, or just really educated guesses.

Lol
Especially if he IS a creative designer, that'd be quite the educated guess.
XD
Still, I could see Fennekin developing into an egyptian god, especially Anubis or Set. Who's to say it has to remain a Fennec?
In fact, from the fan art I've seen, I hope it DOESN'T stay a Fennec.
It's okay, but it... they're just boring.

Still, monk over wizard is fine by me, though I don't know which is going to be my preferred this time. Despite having chosen water every single time in the past.

Yveltal and Xerneas are based on yatagarasu and shishigami respectively

The defining trait of the yatagarasu is that it has three legs. Yveltal does not have three legs.

The Shishigami was a creature in Princess Mononoke. It's not an actual Japanese myth, and it has nothing in common with Xerneas besides both being deer.

Shishigami was not the first deer.
