Technically, the Z-axis is the vertical axis, while the X- and Y-axes are horizontal axes, in the Cartesian coordinate system... >.>

People also think that the "third version" will be named Z, in reference to the fact that the three axes of dimension are X, Y, and Z; tying in with the fact that now Pokemon games are in 3D.

Doesn't work so well when you consider that the ground one moves on 2 Axes (X and Y), while the flying one moves on 3 (X, Y, Z)

So what, all the ground in the Pokemon world is flat? I think not. They both move in all three dimensions.

You know what I mean, the Stag moves left/right, forward/back mainly, while the bird does that and moves up/down.

I'm sick of this comparison. Are you seriously arguing that Xerneas can only go left or right, and never forwards nor backwards nor downhill nor uphill, and that Yvertal can only fly in a straight line up and down? Both can move and rotate along X, Y and Z axes, albeit Yvertal is more at liberty in moving along the Y axis.

EDIT: My annoyance caused me to post before I read the rest of the topic. I'm glad I'm not alone in this.

Y was where the boy was looking forward at route 3 in the trailer
X was when the girl was running
Z was when the boy was skating.
Just an hypothesis.
