Y is an arbitrary direction perpendicular to X
Z is direction perpendicular to both

That said, if you want those three to be anything but what he called them in a 3D game or simulation or whatever, you're going to have one weird looking camera matrix.

I think its a possibility they could go in the same direction Black and White did and have two sequel games XX and XY, which has to do with DNA.

Its also a possibility that they would go back to their original formula and have third game, Z version, which would connect the games to the 3 dimension idea ...since the games would be the first 3D main series Pokemon games. I can see Game Freak doing something like that.

You can. But as I said, that would require a weird looking camera matrix, since every graphics card API uses what he said. For extra fun, one has Y increase as you go up, and the other has it increase as you go down, whilst one has Z go up as you go away from the camera, and the other has it go down as you go away from the camera.

@Z is depth. Imagine you are facing along the X axis. Walk forward. You are moving in the X axis. Now, turn left 1/2 of PI radians. Walk forward. You are moving along the Z axis. If you don't understand this, or think what I said is somehow wrong, your schools have failed you.
