Your reaction if Charizard is changed to fire dragon this gen?

lessening it's damage to stealth rock, and leaving it with only weaknesses to ground and dragon and rock

i think it'd have a chance to become viable in competitive for the first time in years.

I'd be sad that they were changing types for no good reason.

It'd still be weak to Rock.

Charizard would still suffer from mediocre stats, and in addition to Stealth Rock, it's now vulnerable to Spikes and Toxic Spikes.

And it's weak to Ground and Dragon.

Being Fire/Dragon would make Charizard even worse, really.

And it's not deserving of the Dragon-type.

Annoyed since Blastoise would now be a Water/Rock type...

JW, has a Pokemon's type ever been changed or retconned or whatever?

As awesome as that would be, all it would do is ruin the dynamics between it and Blastoise and Venusaur. Plus, in order for it to "fly" it's have to have Levitate, and they're not going to have it give up Blaze for that.

And rock.

He would be pretty solid (fire + dragon is great STAB's, being only resistedby (as always) Heatran), though really only with solar power as his stats still leave something to be desired. Give him a scarf or specs in the sun, and he'd be quite dangerous. He would probably be pretty good.
