What if this gen introduced save points?

I really hope they don't. I like to play, then save, turn it off, and come back later. I also save every 10 minutes and if the save points were far apart that would make me paranoid that it would freeze or something. So what do y'all think?

It's a terrible mechanic for a handheld title which are meant for stop and go play.

I take it that the full 3D world has you concerned (since they wouldn't be saving data for something as simple as whatever map tile you're currently on). I wouldn't worry; although Pokemon Colosseum used save points, Pokemon XD didn't, so it's not as if 3D environments are limited in that regard.

By Final Fantasy 20, it will have merged with the Pokemon franchise. Gamefreak by then will be rich enough to buy out Square Enix
