Either the topic title is misleading, or I don't know what we're talking about.

I was going to say Dewott.

That's how you actually say it

It goes: Basic stage >>> 1st Stage >>> 2nd Stage

In the card game, sure.

This isn't the board for the card game.

And I can't abide any system that considers Raichu a "first stage" Pokemon (card game counts babies separately IIRC).

No, it's the same with the main games. It is called evolution ya know. You can't really call a basic pokemon the "first" evolution cuz the pokemon doesn't evolve at all. Take Charmeleon, he is the first evolution in the Charmander line hence he first stage evolution.

this logic is stupid
zero can't be basic

you're not even using the word stages anymore.
basic = 1st stage
basic =/= 1st evolution

I'd like to agree on this, I thought we were talking middle stage Pokémon :]
Bulbapedia calls 'em unevolved -> first evolution -> second evolution though.

Pseudo legendary second stages are cooler. And the rest of them.

Blaziken for sure. He might have been mediocre in gen 3 and gen 4, but I liked him anyway.
