Gen 1. None of them are the strongest, but they're all close to being the strongest and they're all in the same Gen. The other Gens had SOME strong Pokes and SOME weak ones. Gen 1 had the most strong ones.

Pokemon like...
Alakazam.
Golem.
Gyarados.
Gengar.
Dragonite.
Machamp.
Jolteon.
Arcanine.
Mewtwo.

These are all Pokemon that get a a lot of praise.

I don't think Golem gets praise from anyone...ever.

Also, I'm not counting legendaries. If you want to, then Gen 1 really gets screwed in comparison. So Mewtwo is out.

As for gens, Gen 4 had the strongest outing although Gen 5 had a very strong one as well;
Garchomp
Empoleon
Torterra
Infernape
Weavile
Croagunk
Lucario
Magnezone
Dusknoir
Gallade
Porygon-Z
Togekiss
Rhyperior
Spiritomb
Gastrodon
Staraptor

All of the above are middle to high tier dudes.

Croagunk? U mean Toxiccroak

5th Gen had
Haxorus
Hydreigon
Chandelure
Darmanitan
Excadrill
Reuniclus
Bisharp
Conkeldurr
Archeops
Zoroark
Sawsbuck (Chlorophyll sweeper)
Mienshao
Volacarona
Jellicent
Gothitelle
Cincinno(Skill Link)
Scrafty
Ferrothorn

Gen 5. Don't you guys remember when Gen 5 first came out and everyone was hyped/worried because of the general increase in stats for Pokemon?

I know! Compare Stoutland's base stats to other fully evolved Pokemon you found in early on in the other games. Stoutland is better than the damn starters!

While Gen IV has guys like Arceus, Infernape, and Garchomp, I'd give this to Gen V because there was quite a power creep. Guys like Haxorus, Hydreigon, Volcarona, Excadrill, Black/White Kyurem, and Chandelure were introduced here!

Oddworld, Graffiti Kingdom, Supah Nario Bros, and Simtunes FTW!
That light at the end of the tunnel might be a train.

I'm surprised that Gen 2 got any votes at all.
