how slow will the battles be?

when i play D/P i never noticed how slow it was until i played Pt.

they were the first duo to use animated sprites and Gamefreak weren't familiar with optimizing it yet i suppose.

which leads me to ask if the 3D animations may hinder battle speed....
i hope this isn't the case, but it continued to rain

From the look of the trailer it looks like the moves are fast and it doesn't waste your time. I think they learned their lesson with the 4th generation and its slowness. A health bar shouldn't go down slower because you have more hp.

I wish Blastoise was my dad. He wouldn't beat my mom like what her boyfriend, Johnny does. If Blastoise was my dad things would be different around here.

BW used animated sprites and it was pretty fast. And there's also the option to turn off battle animations.

i don't think we'd be able to turn off pokemon animation this time...unless they have a secret sprite mode.

I don't think they will be that bad. I mean, the seem to be having flashier animations for entering battles and attacking, but if they keep the option to turn that off then you can at least speed things up if you don't care for the animations.

However, I can't imagine triple battles NOT experiencing a massive slowdown.

I think we will. It'd just be like Gen 5. Moving sprites, but no animations. Except this time, it's just moving models. The Pokemon jump around in their spot, that's all.

I have a bad feeling X/Y will be as sluggish as D/P and then Pokemon Z will fix it like Pt fixed the 4th gen games.
