I used to but after b/w2 i just never bothered. I would if I plan on going back to online battles, but its no fun without friends that play pokemon. I got sick of going online and seeing the same pokes, same teams, and same lame strategies over and over again.
So for the people that don't transfer because they think its "lazy" do you just go back to older games to use your faves? I mean the main reason I transfer to is to keep my Pokemon in case something happens to my old games(stolen, lost, sold), plus I like to breed and trade, and the newer titles have really made breeding easier and better.
Plus how else would you use some of favorite teams, for battling? I doubt Black2/White2 will be able to connect to X/Y beyond transferring purposes, and I can kinda understand wanting to start fresh. I can really only call it "lazy" if someone transfers/trade as early as possible and stomps the main game.
But to each their own.

Yeah, I have about twenty or so that I transfer over awhile after I beat the main game. It gives me a chance to build up another team of strong pokemon before getting the old ones over, and I use them to mix and match for battling my sister.
On the one hand, I can see the point with regards to event legendaries and other rare or one-off Pokemon (eg: shinies). But for stuff like "my beloved level 100 hand-raised [x] who served me loyally through an entire game ", then no... I just don't get sentimental like that. I'd rather start fresh and create new memories with a new team of rookies instead of clinging to past glory.
That said, I do make sure to send over an Aron egg each game though...
