Have you ever caught a shiny?

Managed to get a shiny Donphan in HG, but from what I remember, that's it from my entire Pokemon career. I'd kill for a shiny Beldum/Metang/Metagross.

Red Gyarados &
Pink Dratini

My only 2 shiny poke'mon encounters and I caught them both.

Yes, not counting the Red Gyarados, Blaxxorus, or any other guaranteed shinies.

LeafGreen: Bulbasaur (starter)
FireRed: Rattata, Mewtwo
Diamond: Two Wurmples, Gastrodon, Nidoran female
HeartGold: Chikorita (starter)
Black 2: Lunatone

Then I have about a billion chained shinies and a billion more RNGed shinies, but they don't really count.

Does it count if you breed the red Gyarados for a gold Magikarp?

I don't see why not. That would only increase the chances of getting a shiny in GSC, though. It would sorta be like use the Pokeradar, I guess.

Excluding guaranteed shinies, only once. A Minccino (now a Cinccino) in the original Pokemon White.

Yeah. I caught a shiny Geodude once. Thought it was something special. Turns out it was just the same thing, only yellow. I got mad and restarted my game. Yeah, I know it was a stupid thing to do.

I've caught 3 of them.

-Caught a caterpie in Crystal
-Caught a shiny pidgey in Fire Red (right after getting my first pokeballs also) and then a shiny onix later on.

One at the beginning of pokemon heartgold... I got a golden bellsprout! I almost got a wheezing in pokemon pearl that was shiny... But it blew up first turn.

Yes, I have, and caught both.

Up until December 2012, I would have been in your camp, TC. Played Gen I-III, hundreds of hours into each, and never even saw one.

Then last month, just within days of each other I saw a Shiny Lunatone and Eevee in White 2. I was stunned. It truly is random, so just keep at it if you never have caught one.
