Why so many water pokemon but so little bugs?

If we're going by "there's more water things than anything" logic then there should be a lot of bugs too because there's a lot of bugs too.

Because pretty much anything in the water is a water type. Bugs are just one of many terrestrial types of Pokemon.

Armaldo is Rock/Bug that has Swift Swim, too bad it has to be stuck with rock type.
