Please explain to me how Skorupi evolves into Drapion...

How does this....

It literally makes no sense...

I'm also curious how Dragonair evolves into Dragonite....

The arms on it's head grow out and it's legs and tail get bigger and change color. There are far more extreme shifts than Skorupi and Drapion such as Dragonair and Dragonite like you mentioned. Also Feebas and Milotic. And more I can't think of.

Still, I think Drapion should be the final form. It feels like there is a second form missing inbetween Skorupi and Drapion.

It literally looks like a bigger, more developed Skorupi.

And Dragonite is based on Japanese and European dragons, while the pre-evolutions are based off of more serpentine Asian dragons.

Weedle is based on a caterpillar/larva that enters a cocoon before emerging as a hornet.
Remoraid is explained.
