This poll is now closed.
To pass the time until Pokemon X/Y much anticipated arrival, I want to hold a series of polls that rates every single gym leader that appears in the main series game. Everyday I will hold a poll dedicated to one of the main series gym leaders, and you have a chance to rate them on a scale of 1-10. The poll will be open for 24 hours and the gym leader will be chosen at random. You can rate the gym leaders on whatever you like: gym puzzles, gym battle, appearance, line-up, difficulty, etc.

For the first day, we will start off with Pryce.

Day One: Pryce
Region: Johto
Town: Mahagony Town
Type Specialty: Ice

Gold and Silver Line-up:
Pryce lvl 27, Dewgong lvl 29, Pilowsine lv 31

HeartGold and SoulSilver Line-up:
Pryce lvl 30, Dewgong lvl 32, Pilowsine lv 34

I am going to give Pryce a 5. For the seventh gym leader in the game, his team is pretty lacking. The Ice-types is one of my favorite types, but this battle was pretty simple. Out of all the Ice-types in the game, why give him two Pokemon of the same line? Not to mention, Seel is not even an Ice-type. What is wrong with Cloyster, Jynx, or even Delibird? His team is pretty underleveled, even in HG/SS. His gym puzzle was kind of fun though, so that saves him from a lower score. They could've done much better with Pryce and his team.

I'll give him an 8

He's certainly the best Johto gym leader, and he's got a goddamn Piloswine. Wish he had a bigger role.

8 (higher is better, right?)
I actually thought his team was a bit of a challenge with having Water as a secondary Type in two (I think) of his Pokemon (considering I chose Cyndaquil).

Although... Maybe 8 is a bit too high... Either way, I thought he was a bit of a challenge.
And his sprite in Gen IV and V looks awesome.

Uhm

You can battle him before Chuck and Jasmine, making him tied for the 5th gym leader.
