Oh, my god. Even by counting Mew there's only 150 Pokemon in the Kanto Dex. O_O

Well, there are different sprites for different genders for quite a few.

Biggest being Unfezent

I wasn't aware of the different stats and move pool.

I thought it was literally only it's Evos and that one gender symbol difference not counting looks.

How come Burny isn't listed as two different species then? Its the same thing.

They're related species, but not the same species. With your logic Tauros and Miltank are also the same pokemon.

Tauros and Miltank aren't "related" species in any sense of the word.

Thing is, the male Nidoran family tend to have horn-related attacks in their movepool (unlike their female counterparts), and are generally more offence-oriented; the female Nidoran family emphasise support and defences more. It's kind of like the difference between Latias and Latios.

Different designs, different movepools, different evolutionary lines, different eggs, different height and weight, different cries, different EV yields.

The concept of having different forms for the male and female of one Pokemon didn't start until after the Nidorans were introduced as separate Pokemon, and even then those forms are only cosmetic until the Pokemon hits a gender-based evolution split.

NidoranF eggs could hatch into NidoranM's, and vice-versea

Well, you can't get Tauros by breeding Miltank, but they're opposite-gender Pokemon based on the same real-world species with identical base stat totals (though arranged differently - but the Special stats are identical), same Egg groups, same EXP curves, found in the same places when not in Safari Zones, were considered semi-version-counterparts in multiple games... if they wanted to connect the two in the sixth gen, they'd have no problem doing so (unlike, say, Luvdisc and Alomomola, which would require some pretty significant changes to one or the other).

How about Volbeat and Illumise? Is that a better comparison?

That may be the case if they introduced genders in Gen I (I bet the localization team are kicking themselves because of Mr. Mime) but that is not the case.

Volbeat and Illumise have no such excuse, however. (I hate Illumise. Volbeat is kinda cool since he gets Tail Glow and said tail sets him apart from his female counterpart, but Illumise is just dull and redundant.)

FireRed/LeafGreen remakes will make Nidoran-M the dominant species, and Nidoran-F will become a form (transgender Pokemon for the LGBT crowd.)

Okay, perfect example we have so far.

I already realized my mistake, but okay.
