So what secondary moves do you think the starters used in the trailer?

I believe that they used:

Chespin: Aerial Ace
If you pause while he does the second move, it looks a lot like Aerial Ace's animation with the same red bar. As well as the move does a downward slash and followed by an upward slash.

Fennekin: Growl
The move appears to have a noise effect to it and Growl has had a colorful wavy animation before.

"The user growls in an endearing way, making the opposing team less wary. The foes' Attack stats are lowered."

endearing... as in cute?

Froakie: Quick Attack
"The user lunges at the target at a speed that makes it almost invisible. It is sure to strike first."

What do you think?
I know some people speculate Night Slash, Psywave, and Close Combat.

You know, TC, that kinda makes sense to me.

Chespin: Yeah, it's Aerial Ace. I'm guessing that the people that think it's Night Slash never played B2/W2, since that's when Aerial Ace started looking like that.
Fennekin: I think it's some sort of Psychic-type attack. I've never seen Growl have that kind of coloring in its animation, but plenty of Psychic-type moves have that kind of coloring in their animations.
Froakie: I'm not sure what it is, but I just don't think Froakie would be able to learn Quick Attack.

Chespin: Underground Ace

Fennekin: Radiation

Froakie: Struggle.

This is a sig. Yup.

Weirder things can learn it like Trapinch, Seedot, and Terrakion.

It's definitely Aerial Ace for Chespin. I have this theory that it was actually XY that made that new Aerial Ace animation and that Black2/White2 decided to borrow it (along with others like Outrage and Water Pulse). If you look closely, there's even a thin white slashing motion that follows the direction of the red stripe. The purple slashing goes opposite to the red stripe, so I don't mean that.

Like most others I also think that Fennekin is using a Psychic-type move, though I have no idea if it's old or a new move. I have no idea what Froakie is doing, whether it's an old move, a new move, a Normal-type move, a Fighting-type move, whatever. I literally don't know what it is.

Well yeah that does make sense about Outrage, Aerial Ace, and Water Pulse as they did get surprisingly new animation for BW2 out of nowhere.

Exactly. When I realized that BW2's animation for Aerial Ace matched the move in the trailer, I began to wonder if perhaps all moves with updated visuals in BW2 are actually glimpses of their animation in XY. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how moves like Outrage, Water Pulse, and Flare Blitz look in these games- if BW2 were anything to go by, they're going to look amazing. You can see many of the moves that had updated animations in BW2 here:
