What's your average playtime for the main game?

How many pokemon do you usually have on your team during the first playthrough?

Do you learn as much as you can about the new gen before release, or let the game surprise you?

Do you nickname your pokemon?

50 hours. I take my time and catch one of everything, talk to every single npc, battle every trainer, and get all items.

6

Learn all the new Pokemon, find out stats of ones I like so I know what to use.

No.

1. Depends on the game.
2. Six.
3. Learn all the Pokemon, their stats, moves, and locations so I can plan my team.
4. All of them. Even the ones that I don't use.

About 50 hours.

I usually use about 6 sometimes 7 or 8

I let the game surprise me.

I nickname all of the pokemon I plan on using. Don't nickname randoms I catch to fill the pokedex.

Oops sorry. I do read about the gen before I get the game so I can plan my team.

1. Don't know offhand, don't really care to check, but I'd estimate somewhere in the 20-30 hour range. Obviously, you'd add on a lot more in post-game content, and repeated plays can shave off a few hours due to knowing what to do.

2. Five. Gotta keep an open slot for HM slaves or event Pokemon/eggs.

3. It varies. I researched a lot for D/P, just shy of pre-planning the entire team, but I tried to go in to B/W as blind as possible (managed to only spoil the starters, 2 towns, and maybe 4 other 'mons. Not bad, considering). For X/Y, I'll probably look up the new 'mons as they're revealed, but try to resist anything more than that.

4. Very rarely. for me, it's like an "all or nothing" deal, and I often don't feel up to the challenge of coming up with dozens/hundreds of unique and interesting names. Well... I say that, but I tend to only catch Pokemon I intend to use, and I hate switching up my team for any reason... so it's really closer to like 10 nicknames (including legendaries).

1. It varies.
2. 5-6
3. I want to know as little as possible. The only thing I DO want is how to evolve each member of my team, if it does.
4.Never.

50 hours from start to Champion.
7-10
I see all the Pokemon, avoid stats and location and story.
I hardly ever nicknamed my Pokemon.
