Recently, the top comment has tagged the first move as Focus Blast, but I think it looks more like superpower. Thoughts? The closed eyes and actual, "focus" persuade me to believe it's focus blast. If the 3rd attack is dream eater as well, then it would make sense to have all special moves considering the way gen 5 was built. I'm still leaning towards Superpower because it matches the animations of it better than it matches focus blast. Both attacks have a long start up animation, but focus blast starts as a small ball and grows larger. This animation has: 1) heat plumes upon start up of the move 2) an aura around the pokemon once start up has finished 3) an all-way impact animation with small orbs/stars near the center
The Gen 5 animation for superpower doesn't have the ball launching like it was originally in 3rd gen, but the gen 5 focus blast has a swirly impact animation instead of an all-way explosion. If anything, the new animation is a hybrid of these two moves. What do you guys think? (Third move discussion would be cool too. I haven't thought about that one too much yet. :p)

It's Double Edge. Compare the impact red/orange patterns with the BW2 impact red/orange patterns. Pretty similar. And fits in with every other move in that Eevee can learn it. --- 3DS FC: - White 2 FC: 1765 0547 5604, Name: Kojo
Indeed. With the XY animation of both Double-Edge and Aerial Ace looking like their updated Black2/White2 animations, I now have little doubt that all the updated Black2/White2 move visuals were actually inspired by their XY counterparts.
This makes me really look forward to seeing moves like Outrage and Flare Blitz in XY. --- [Este mensaje fue borrado al deseo del dueno]
I think all three attacks are Special attacks. Look at Sylveon itself during the animations and compare it to the Physical vs Special animations in the console games. This is what convinces me it's a Special Attacker. --- Why do I have to move with the crowd of kids that hardly notice I'm around? I work myself to death just to fit in.
If that is Double-Edge, it's kind of disappointing that Sylveon doesn't actually go and tackle the opponent. Then again, maybe Double-Edge isn't a tackling kind of move, but I always thought it was.
I just don't want this game to end up like Stadium/PBR/Colosseum and not show the Pokemon actually attacking each other. Froakie did use that one move in the trailer, and I hope that hasn't been changed. --- STOP CALLING ME HOME ROWED http://i.imgur.com/oMfaqni.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Hmo0Oia.jpg
Wow, Double edge does have a similar impact animation. The start up is a little plain, though. Maybe they spiced it up a bit. Certainly something to consider! --- Capcom, you lost my trust. Brawl FC: 5327-0561-2993 PSN: ksalfer
I'm not saying you guys are wrong, but i thought pokemon in 3d games had different animations for physical and special attacks? Sylveon used the same animation for double edge as it did swift and trump card which are both special. --- Black FC: 4470 3989 3640 White 2 FC: 1979 7990 6311 (Use this one unless specified)

Ahhh, that's a good point. Frokie approaches the other pokemon with his second in the x and y trailer. Although, I can't quite determine if he's got a different animation, or if it's the same one that's just being manipulated by the move. When he gets right up to patrat, he has one hand on the ground just like he does when using his water attack.
