Pokemon X

I feel your pain. I've played through different pokemon games at least 9 or 10 times, and I've never encountered a single shiny.

About how many hours have you put into Pokemon throughout your whole life?

Eh? I actually don't know. Let's see, my baseline should be around 90 hours for Black 2 since that's the only one I carry with me at all times right now (specifically, in-game time is 89:50). Black 1 was probably the same, since I kinda stalled out in the post-game. I didn't put much time into Soul Silver, comparatively speaking, so around 120 hours there. Platinum I loved, and at least 240 hours there, but Pearl was around 150. In Gen 3, I had Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Leaf Green, but I lost Ruby after beating it. Emerald was probably the best fun I had before Platinum, so we can probably time-match to Gen 4 there and call the rest at around 60 each; a little low, but we can average out Ruby that way. Gen 2 was only Crystal since I skipped Gold/Silver, but I played it obsessively for countless hours. Generation 1, I had Red and Blue, but shinies didn't exist yet, so there's no point in timing those. So, probably not much more than 1300 hours, I'd say. That's...actually not really much, is it? It's not even two months, taken continuously.

Of course, these numbers are all being pulled out of thin air, since I only have the one game with me, and it's one that I didn't really play as much compared to the older ones. That's also not including romhacks, of course. They don't generally play with shiny rates unless they're total conversions, but I won't count them since they aren't "official" in either case.

In diamond I had almost 500, and almost the entire Sinnoh Dex.

White with multi-playthroughs I've had about 100+ hours.

Soulsilver has 283 hours.

And whatever I put into the GBA ones. I'm at 13 hours on Emerald with 6 badges though.

Lol that might be the problem... I easily have over s 3000 hours in pokemon with 1000 for 3rd and 4th, 500 for 5th gen and the rest in first and second. 3rd and 4th gen came when i had a bunch of freetime and when i was hardcore about it
