VIIVincentPosted 2/19/2013 4:27:56 AM | i never want to see anymore prevos. who uses them at all? because you want to link some Pokemon? is that it? and some evos of some Pokemon who can really abuse Eviolite would be terrifying. Lapras and Skarmory for example. --- The end is nigh! *continues playing game* |
jayman7Posted 2/19/2013 9:41:23 AM | mehmetski posted...sry, but raichu is a stage 2 You're wrong no matter how you look at it. By the card game terminology, Raichu is a stage 1. By any sensible terminology, he's stage 3. --- Creator of Jay's Journey (see quote!) "It's not ten years old! Therefore, it sucks!" - Nostalgia whores everywhere |
mehmetskiPosted 2/19/2013 9:45:17 AM | haha you got me, the fault was created on base of the "stage 3" thing because there's no stage 3. there are babies, then base, then stage 1 and then stage 2. when i read "stage 3" all i thought was "no it is one stage below" and that's why i wrote stage 2 when i meant stage 1 xD i apologize for the "2" but not for correcting that post |
jayman7Posted 2/19/2013 9:59:41 AM | The truth is, though, that the card game terminology is, IMHO, incredibly stupid, and not counting the "baby" or "base" stage in your numbering system stupidly arbitrary. I mean, at least I can understand not counting babies, since they were added later, but not counting base stages? And this results in stupid things like Raichu being "stage 1"? Did I mention the word "stupid" in this post? Because that's what it is. --- Creator of Jay's Journey (see quote!) "It's not ten years old! Therefore, it sucks!" - Nostalgia whores everywhere |
mehmetskiPosted 2/19/2013 10:04:35 AM | a stage is when you go up or forward. so calling base "stage 1" is totally ..oh wait...stupid! and like you said, babies came later and that's why theyre special. and who officially said that the terminology only applies to the tcg huh? |
VerdikaPosted 2/19/2013 10:11:32 AM | Agreed. Depending on how you chose to count babies, Raichu is either stage 2 or stage 3 as far as I'm concerned. TCG terminology is silly and shouldn't be applied to the main games.
Either way, my point is that there are no Pokemon with 4 stages to their evolution, and I think that this is for the best. But I make an exception for the Pikachu line, because Pikachu is special and is meant to be special, but it also completely sucks. If any Pokemon in existence should have 4 levels of evolution, it's the Pikachu line. Maybe call him something like Daichu, make him sleeker in build (down with Raichu's tubby-ness), give him a longer tail, and make him black with bright yellow highlights and cheeks. Give him pseudo-legendary stats, and let him loose. Pikachu has been given tons of love in the advertising and cutsy category. Now give him some love in the actual game. --- There's nothing that sucks worse that that moment in an argument when you realize that you are wrong. |

Evolite Dance-Chu...oh hell yes! Fem Raichu with 50% increase in defenses with Teeter Dance, TWave, Attract, and Seismic Toss would be so broke. My Raichu is already uber most of the time..more bulk would be killeeeeeeeer |

SpikeTbearPosted 2/20/2013 12:30:06 AM | There will never be a 4 stage Pokemon. Also Pokemon that evolve with an evolution stone like Sunflora have never evolved again and probably never will.
The only reason baby Pokemon are useful is because they give an evo line to something that is too powerful to ever evolve, like Skarmory. They also allow us to use very powerful Pokes early in the game. There's no way we would ever find a Snorlax on Route 1 because it would wipe the floor with everything ingame. But you could very well find Munchlax early on in the same way we got Riolu and Azurill in Black 2. --- "The most important thing is to never stop questioning." -Albert Einstein. Parasect evolution and baby Tropius
Tropius is bad enough as a fully evolved poke, why would it need a baby? I would rather see a Tropius evo than a pre-evo. Just give it the Roselia treatment. --- http://i458.photobucket.com/albums/qq303/CharizardFire6/Char-Brawl.gif |
