I get the feeling that this will be an inevitable legendary trio down the road..

Psychic, Fighting, and Ghost. To represent Mind, Body, and Soul.

After thinking about it, it seems like these three types were probably introduced with that concept in mind. Though it doesn't necessarily have to be a type triangle, considering that Fighting is not SE against ghost, I could bet that Dark was introduced partially to close that gap.

Regardless, I'm placing my bets on this. It may not happen this gen, and it may not happen next gen, but I'm sure that it's going to happen.

That isn't a bad idea. I could see it happening.

Won't happen as all legendary trios share a type.

It wouldn't be the first time they've broken a trend.

Eh...Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza? Pretty sure those are Ground, Water, and Dragon/Flying, respectively.

Forgetting that for a second though, it's possible that they could all be dual types that share one type and differ in having Psychic, Fighting, Ghost as secondaries.

Evacuate? In our moment of triumph? I think you overestimate their chances.

I just remembered that the Johto and Hoenn trios were different types so I changed my answer.

I don't see the problem with the Fighting type legendary being NVE against one and ineffective against the other. Groudon knows all too well how that feels (although Ground does normal damage on Water Pokemon, Kyogre still had the upper hand by being SE against its rival).
