Yeah, yeah, I know about the DNA strands. Obviously there can't possibly be a double meaning in the name. That convention is unheard of in Pokemon!

Except that one of those two meanings only makes sense with a Pokemon Z, and the other only makes sense without a Pokemon Z.

Not really. Many animals do have a Z chromosome. Humans don't, but since Pokémon are based on animals, Z version would make sense with both meanings.

However, I don't care. I'm perfectly content with waiting until they announce what's going on. Speculation is almost always wrong, so I don't bother.

Secondly, Z has nothing to do with X and Y, at least in the context the games are using the letters, so a Z version doesn't make much sense.

It makes a lot of sense.

Pokemon, starting with X and Y, is in 3D. X, Y, and Z are the 3 dimensions that make '3D'.

even if pokemon does not have a history of numbered sequels, plenty of other series do have such a history.

Oh yeah? Name one!

It's based on chromosomes, not axes

It would make no sense to reference the Z chromosome without the W chromosome.

The reason why I predicted we won't have a traditional 3rd version for Black and White is because I couldn't think of a name for w/e the 3rd version will be. "Gray" would not make sense. Reshiram/Zekrom are based on the Taoist concept of Yin-Yang duality, logically to make a '3rd' version we have to get in between that. Except we can't without going to the highest level, Wuji. Granted that's what Kyurem is, but yeah.

Granted, I didn't exactly predict a B/W 2 either. But that's besides the point.
