The legendaries aren't even based off chromosomes, they're based off the Norse mythological creatures that surround the World Tree Yggdrasil.

The tree is surrounded be deer (Xerneas), while a bird (Yveltal) lives in its branches, and a serpent (Z??) wraps around its roots.
