Pokemon X

Back in the day, weren't you a bit apprehensive to Gen 2 when it first came out.

I know I was. All those pokemon I loved from 1st gen? Well, now there are new ones, and all the places are different, and everything is different. And what is this "Special Defense" stat I'm seeing? It really took me a while to get used to, but now its my favorite gen. And thats why I understand when people go preaching that Gen 1 is the undisputed best in the series. People are just apprehensive to change, so when someone has only played Gen 1, they are going to consider everything else horrible because they aren't accustomed to change/

Ha, my feelings exactly. I didn't even realize the special split until I read about it in the guidebook I owned.
