The Social Network of Pokemon

#1GrasaChronoPosted 2/24/2013 1:47:12 AM
Face it, games are starting to be designed around socializing with other people. Imagine walking down the street and updating your status about how that abra got away, and you can have custom profile pics with random caught Pokemon. It will have an "auction house" where you can buy and sell Pokemon for in game currency or BitCoins. In game instances because game freak random Dlc leading into Pokemon Z. An actual pokemmo with better Dlc because X and Y are just practice.

You shouldn't update your status while walking down the street... you could walk into a pole or a manhole or something or walk into traffic... it's really dangerous...

Also, there's no reason to create a social network for Pokémon or any other game when there are fully-functional forums and chats and stuff that serve the same purposes you just mentioned O_o

One game to rule them all.
One game to last more than one generation.
An ever evolving game with new recurring villains and rivals from older games every couple months would freshen the system up and stuff.

DLC and auction houses aren't really considered a social network thing, those fall more in the line of game mechanics itself o.o Only reason auction houses are social is because, well, people have to be involved for them work. That's it.

As for the rest of it...don't some people already do that with other networks? Pokemon has always been geared to be a social game, it's just people were able to ignore it until wi-fi came along and it blossomed rapidly enough to slap us in the faces. Not saying what you've put out there isn't viable. Could happen. But we shouldn't treat this as anything new.
