Let's be constructive: How would you revamp the IV system?

Would you simply let players see the IVs of newly caught pokemon, or throw IV's out all together and replace them with something else entirely?

First, you must be able to strengthen/weaken IVs somehow. Second, you must be able to view them.

Alternatively, have a Hidden Power system in place and remove IVs.

Throwing them out entirely would be a bad idea. The change in the IV system between Gen 2 and Gen 3 was one of the reasons trade between them was incompatible.

Make it easier to see them. I also like the idea of the higher IV stat of one parent tending to take more precedence over over the lower one of the other parent, but I think that would make breeding for certain Hidden Powers an even worse nightmare.

Just give every pokemon the same IVs, effectively removing the system. Use something else for Hidden Power

Not changing this sig until we get a new main series Tales game released on a Nintendo console in the US

Time of Day could work, as in when it was captured.

Allow IVs to be seen on the Summary screen, make Hidden Power's type randomly determined, and introduce items that make it easier to catch Pokémon with good IVs in a given stat.

Just make them changeable, but with a cap like EVs, and then have nature boost IV.
31 cap for each stat, then have a total EV cap of 200ish

Lower IV cap to the point that it is negligible

I think there are a few ways to do it:

a) Remove them completely. Anything that was dependent on IVs before, like Hidden Power, can be changed at will through an NPC.

2) Allow us to change IVs, similar to the way we can change EVs. IVs would be more difficult and/or expensive to change compared to EVs, but still give us complete customization.

3) Change the range of IVs. Instead of the stupid 0-31 range, give us a 0-15 range like we had back in 1st and 2nd gens, or even a 0-7 range. Reducing the possibilities would make it much easier to get the IVs we want.

And, of course, no matter what happens, allow us to see IVs and EVs, and tell us how they work in-game.
