Did you ever skip a gen?

Don't ask how, but I somehow skipped Gen II. ._.

I think it's maybe because I didn't play Blue until a good while after it's release (around 2003) and I only played Sapphire cause my friend had a GB advance and we played it together.
Got a DSi for xmas a few years back with platinum and bought Black on release.

tl;dr? Yes, I have.

But, I have very little experience with Gen IV. Played one game of Diamond and that's it. I have way too much time with Gen II, I'm still going through it. I plan on completing the Pokedex for all those games, then sending the Pokemon up to a Gen IV game when I get one.
Not changing this sig until The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho happens on PPV (started October 4, 2009)

Nope. Gen 3 came close but only cuz I quit Pokemon for a while after Gen 2. Lucky for me I got to play Ruby not long before Gen 4.

I started from generation 3 so yeah, both generation 1 and 2.

I skipped 2 and 3, mostly because I never had a Gameboy.

Fact: all fanbases are unpleasable, deal with it.

No, and I hate people who have.

No, but I wish I'd skipped gen 2. So bad.

Yeah. I kind of gave up on Pokemon after Diamond and Pearl. I tried to play Black and White but the damage was already done. Heart Gold is probably the last Pokemon game I'm going to buy until they try something new. I'm tired of the lack of innovation.

Yes, that makes perfect sense. You're tired of the lack of innovation, so buy a complete rehash of an older game because that's super innovative.

God forbid I'd buy a remake of my favorite game in the series.

Do you even know what rehash means or are you just using that word because you see it around all of the time?
