Lets talk Pokemon genetics!

The Pokemon company was even talking about changing the breeding system. Now that things have switched over to 3D models, wouldn't it be cool if they changed up some of the color scheme's for the Pokemon if you knew how to breed them properly? Take Eevee for example. Other fur color scheme's could be red, black or white, if you breed it with a species of that color of fur.

Shiny colors would still be very rare and that could only come as a slight genetic deformity. It's the Pokemon version of an Albino! You can't exactly breed for that! Masuda Method laughs at that statement.

If they wanted to take it a step further, they could show the Pokemon's personality by the way it poses itself. An impish Pokemon will have a bit of an evil grin constantly. A Jolly Pokemon will look like he's laughing all the time.

Add these two mechanics and all of our Pokemon would truly be unique. They have been striving for that for years.

Would you want these to be a part of the game mechanics for Pokemon?

The different things for nature would be cool, but would change competitive.

I love this idea.

Wait actually I stopped reading earlier at the different colors.
The nature pose changes actually sound cool. I guess neutral natures would just be the normal version.

I just think it would make a nice change from the norm. Think about it. We've got fifteen billion Blissey's in competitive battle and they all look exactly the same. Allowing for a light blue, purple or yellow Blissey would make competitive battling teams look a little more unique. I get tired of seeing the same Pokemon over and over and over again because people won't branch out!

The personality difference won't change too terribly much because everyone uses pretty much the same natures on their Pokemon because that is the smart and reasonable thing to do. You'll be able easily to spot that idiot using a quirky natured Scizor though.

What I'm talking about is no different from allowing different color skins in Super Smash Bro's. It's simply using genetics to accomplish the color swap. Hell, I'd be fine if they just skipped the breeding step and allowed for a dye to serve the same purpose. Breeders have so many other variables to look at without getting ticked off because their perfect stat Pokemon is not the right color.
