I voted post release, but the board ends up dying after the game gets released. It's better than the board being plagued with rumors and ideas though.

Post release by far of any board. Most of the haters/noobs of the board are filtered out and the remaining are usually the ones that enjoy and love the game, beginners who will be helped and a generally better atmosphere with the exception of some hardcore trolls

Right before launch, since that's when we know enough to talk about the game, but there are still enough random topics going around. When the game is first released, then it becomes a mess of "How do I do this?", "Where are you in the game?", and "What's your team?" topics. Post release, it's all just "Rate my team" topics.
Fact: Things are so much better when taken at face value.
