Why doesn't Articuno suffer from Stealth Rock jokes as much as Charizard does?

Gen 1: Articuno's 90% accuracy Blizzard off of 125 special was actually amazing. Especially without steel types. It has been shafted so hard since :(

But anyway, the people who said Articuno doesn't have as vocal a fanbase are correct. Also, it's as far removed from its glory days as possible, people really can't try to defend ice/flying typing for a defensive pokemon, and there's no real way to make it truly threatening anymore. Zard can at least give people a semblance of hope that it will be a threat with solar power sun boosted specs fire blasts that go "womg hits harder than Reshiram!"

Ice/Flying is even worse than Fire/Flying, so in addition of the fanbase thing, it's probably out of pity.

Maybe because Articuno's cooler than Charizard? </bad pun>

Same reason Beautifly doesn't suffer from Stealth Rock joke but Articuno does have a bit more pity to it. A legendary with 580 bst with just unlucky stats, typing, and movepool. Regice is better

Why are people saying that Charizard was better than Articuno when they were both introduced? In every gen they have been in the same tier.

http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/articuno this. Also I don't get these debates about Charizard, if anything it is a rather weak one trick pony. But regardless to that you can use anything competitively you just have to utilize a team to cover your flaws. I am happy to say my Alomomola, and Tropius dou are doing quite nicely in UU.

Atleast Charizard is somewhat usable in OU and ok in Ubers with the right support.

Articuno's Blizzard was the strongest special attack in the game in gen 1. Charizard doesn't have anything to brag about.

Can't you say the same thing about Articuno?
