Create an entirely new system dictating the strengths and weaknesses of Pokemon. Show it to be superior to their current format. All the move sets shown in this format are designed to counter Smogons most common sets. The game suddenly gets a lot less predictable.

That doesn't piss them off, it just gets you banned and forgotten within an hour. Like a fly that continually flies around you, you just squash it and move on.

Make a TM move that every Pokemon can learn that instantly maxes out evasion while instantly lowering opponent's accuracy to the minimum.

Then Smogon would just make sets that are designed to counter sets that are designed to counter their most common sets.
