I started using Showdown a few nights ago. Everyone there is pretty scrubby.

Pokemon Online. Less people, sure, but it's generally easy to get a match and the layout is cleaner and nicer than that of Showdown. I also don't have to put up with the elitism of Smogon, while I respect what they have done for the community dear god does their elitism grind on my nerves.

Have things changed in the last 9 months since I last played competitively? Are smogon players not on PO anymore?

Most of Smogon isn't elitist tough.

I think it's that Smogon keeps to itself with its own PO server.
