Fighting type moves and you

What I am pondering this evening, is why do FIGHTING type moves have such annoying drawbacks?

Here are some examples:

Close Combat - lowers defense and special defense
Super Power - lowers defense and attack
Submission - dat recoil and innaccurate
Jump kick - YOU lose 50% of life when you miss
HI-Jump Kick - YOU lose 50% of life when you miss again!
Dynamic Punch - 50% accuracy?
Focus Punch - hit then you don't even get to move

There just can't be a purely good fight move can there? Sure they're is Aura Sphere and Brick Break, but not many can Aura, and Brick Break, not as POWERFUL as you would like.

It's strong against 5 types, I believe. Tied with Ground. Only weak to Flying and Psychic, both of which aren't really used.
Gotta have some dawbacks to being OP.

Super Power - lowers defense and attackOn this one, I agree. Lowering attack is a major drawback

Focus Punch - hit then you don't even get to move Isn't this move usually used in a combo called ''SubPunching'' which involve substitute in the first place?

Good fighting moves includes (IMO) Aura Sphere (Granted, only 2 non-uber pokemon learns it, disreguarding events but still awesome), Mach punch on a technician breeloom truly kicks ass. And hammer arm (Granted, it reduces speed, but most pokemon I've seen using it have low speed to begin with)

I dunno. But the way I get around Close Combat is by using a Focus Sash on a Pokemon with a sucky defensive type such as Terrakion. He Close Combats all day with his high speed and attack with no fears of taking a hit. Even if he DOES take a hit, he'll definitely survive it.

I assume someone's gonna shoot me down now, eh?

Oh and thanks for that. Forgot ARM HAMMER; come on? Lowered speed and 90% accurate? Fighting types are slow already, why lower speed further -_-

Use something that's slow anyway, such as Metagross. Freaking high attack without caring about speed.

It could have worse drawbacks. It could all make you have to recharge. Have a charge turn like solar beam. gets nerf in certain weather, gets absorb via special abilities like volt absorb etc. Or it could make you freaking explode and commit suicide.

Moving in close to attack the enemy leaves yourself in a terrible position for defense.

Wouldn't you be a bit exhausted after hitting the opponent full-force like that?

Thrashing the opponent about so hard you hurt yourself!

The game even explains this one! "_____ kept going and crashed!"
