There is a status inflicting move for every type except freeze

#1RemixDeluxePosted 3/14/2013 10:42:06 AM
Will this be the generation they finally make a move to inflict freeze on a Pokemon?

Because of how powerful it is among other inflictions they could make the accuracy 60-70% and only have Ice types learn said move.

Even with 60% accuracy it would be way OP.

Or just revamp Freeze to make it more like Sleep? A timer, attacks that ALWAYS unfreeze (like Wake Up Slap), either have most of the inflicting Pokemon have mediocre to terrible stats or just give the move mediocre accuracy, and abilities that prevent it. That way, it isn't so OP.

I've seen people apologize for getting a freeze off of ice beam. That's how OP it is.

Though, Weavile could use a 100% freeze move and an ability like technician. Then he could be the new Breloom.

The only reason I suggested this was to make freezing more popular again. Honestly, I haven't had a frozen pokemon since Gen 1. Who uses Ice moves enough for that to happen let alone the small chance of the effect to happen.

It might not be OP if Ice types of Vanilluxe's speed or lower got it.

Then this would happen when you used it against the A.I
"Pokemon" used <insert move name here>!
The foes "Pokemon" is frozen solid!
*on the same turn*
The foes "Pokemon" thawed out!
....This, happened to me a LOT. Freeze CAN last for a little too long though...

We have a 100% accuracy move that induce Sleep, so why not 100% accuracy move that Freezes? Distribution should likely be limited, of course, but having more widely distributed versions at lower accuracy seems fine to me. Would that be overpowered the way that Freeze currently works? Maybe, but why the heck would we assume it'll work the way that it currently works forever when the mechanics for these things change all of the time?
