I believe the correct phrasing is "cOLD". It uses a pun involving "cold", a measurement of temperature, and "old", a measurement of age. As Douglas Adams said, "Any sufficiently explained joke is indistinguishable from non-humor."

Cold and old are not measurements. They are based on opinion.
