I'm not into competitive battling but isn't rock considered one of the worst types? So why not let rock have its overpowered-ness?
Bit I am aware that SR is overused so it doing equal damage to all types would make sense.
Rock and Ground are solid types individually, but Rock/Ground has two x4 weaknesses. That's why nobody likes Golem, Rhyperior, etc. --- Official Naga Raja of the SMT IV board. "We get off on your tears." - Atlus USA, on Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and Demons' Souls
rock and ground are very good offensive types, and are commonly used together by physical attacks. they're not very good defensive types, though. --- Official Ninetales of the Pokemon X and Y boards PokeDoc: http://tinyurl.com/mustardpi314
I think if it's changed, it should be changed that it damages based on the current HP of the target, instead of maximum. For example, a Charizard with 60% HP switching in would lose 60% * 0,5 =30% instead of 50%.
This would still enable strategic switching without lessening the move's impact too much. --- The official Swampert of the Pokemon X/Y board
