Rock and Ground are solid types individually, but Rock/Ground has two x4 weaknesses. That's why nobody likes Golem, Rhyperior, etc.

rock and ground are very good offensive types, and are commonly used together by physical attacks. they're not very good defensive types, though.

I think if it's changed, it should be changed that it damages based on the current HP of the target, instead of maximum. For example, a Charizard with 60% HP switching in would lose 60% * 0,5 =30% instead of 50%.

This would still enable strategic switching without lessening the move's impact too much.
