I believe each line had A good Pokemon in it, but overall, their designs sucked compared to previous generations. In fact it is the only Pokemon game where I have always ditched the starter.

Vote based on appearance rather than competitively.

What do you think?

Gen 2 starters were horrible beyond comparison.

Pretty much this.

Gen 2 had some cool starter designs but they are pretty much useless outside of Typhlosion and Feral looking awesome.

I actually don't really dislike any of the Gen 3 starters, but they are all kind of meh in my eyes.
Gen 1 was good across the board, Gen 2 had Cyndaquil and Chikorita (both awesome), Gen 4 had Piplup, and Gen 5 had Oshawott (and Snivy was okay too).

How can you hate the gen 2 starters? It had the unhatable Cyndaquil.

Oh. Then I actually like their designs, save for samurott. Serperior is my fave grass starter<3

How can someone hate them? Chikorita was practically useless in comparison to the other grass starter lines. Cool concept, poor movepool execution.

Sceptile > Torterra > Venusaur > Serperior = Meganium

Typhlosion > Blaziken > Charizard = Infernape = Emboar

Blastoise > Samurott > Feraligatr > Empoleon > Swampert

Whatever that translates into.
