Type chart for "Sacred" light type

#1iKhanicPosted 3/17/2013 10:13:16 AM
SE against: Dark (Evil)- Because goodness fights evil
Ghost- Well, a divine type obviously has power over the dead.
Poison- A divine ability to cure

Weak to:
Dark (Evil)- Because evil fights goodness
Fire- Because hell is made of fire. Sacred pokemon wouldn't want to fall from grace to hell.
Dragon- A force mighty enough to fight the divine

Resistant to:
Poison- Because it wouldn't make sense for sacred figures to be poisoned
Ghost- See above
Electric- A reference to electricity being an "Act of God"
Fighting- A concept that one cannot fight the divine with just force

Resisted by:
Steel- Because its steel and it almost resists everything
Dragon- Just a force mighty enough to fight the divine
Psychic- Mental strength to resist the power of the divine.

What do you think? What is yours?

What kind of Pokemon would have this type?

I'd say also Immune to Normal. Normality can't so much as hurt a Divine Being, like it can't hit a ghost.

This wouldn't work unless they changed arceus the only "divine type" pokemon there is.

Give Arceus an additional Normal plate, make his default type Sacred. Boom.

I dunno. Angels and Fairies could be light type too. Arcanine is a pokemon of legends, so it could use the light type (plus it would improve the mirror between Arcanine and Houndoom)

Any pokemon that has some mythical background would fit well into that typing.

My question is not one that regards the fact that the metagame is already balanced enough without this rather well-balanced type.

My question is: Aside from Arceus and Judgement, what moves and Pokemon that already exist would gain this type?

Like I said, Arcanine for Pokemon

For moves, I could see Hyper Beam being retyped. Or Thunder. But I'd rather those stick with their original type, and have entirely new moves that are light type.

Also, well balanced? Water and Dragon types are OP, and Poison, Ice, and Grass types get screwed. Although the type chart I game just exacerbates the problem.
