Bonjour.

By random battles I mean the ones on showdown when you're Pokemon are random. I say yes, sometimes there is no point fighting a losing battle.

How about you?

It depends.
Does your opponent have an AR and he's using codes that modify critical hits and accuracy? Then, yes. It's perfectly okay to quit. Otherwise, not really, no. I take my losses like a man.

I don't mind forfeits as long as they're not just blatant disconnects because you're losing. If there's literally no way for you to win a match, I guess it's fine, but if they rage and d/c over one bad critical hit or something...

Well, on Showdown, et cetera, I'm pretty sure it's not hacked in general, so there's no reason to quit unless you get Metapod/Kakuna/Magikarp/Feebas/TwoOther/BadPokémon.

On normal wi-fi battles, forfeiting is only acceptable if their Pokémon are hacked. It's just a stupid thing to do; makes you seem like a sore loser, gets you banned for an hour, et cetera.

It would be acceptable if you have to end the battle early if you need to go somewhere.

You're thinking of ragequitting- that is, powering off the game mid-battle. Forfeiting is when you hit "Run", and the opponent is declared the winner. I personally think of it as a far more honorable means of ending the battle when you know a loss is inevitable.

Read the post directly above yours.

I was under the impression that TC was asking about rage-quitting, myself.

I read to see if he explained first.
