I group crabs with bugs (because I group all arthropod, etc. loosely as 'bugs'), but a lot of people group them in their own category, or something like "shellfish." My husband thinks that "shellfish" are a type of "fish" and thus actually does categorize crabs as "fish." It drives me insane when this comes up for some reason X_X
Also "bug" "fish" "crab" etc. are not species anyway. --- http://reddragonranch.blogspot.com The Legend of Red Dragon Ranch - KICKSTARTER now LIVE!!
Marine crustaceans are not a part of the informal bug family.
There's no set definition for this. That's part of why it's informal.
It's informal because there is no set definition of what a bug is in reference to arthropods but it's undeniable that marine crustaceans are not a part of that. --- If you fail to get krump....nothing you do in life will succeed.- Krump King ASB Black 2: 0820-1866-0181
Bug:Oh look, there's pineco, who's just a pinecone. He's not a bug at all! Crustle and Dwebble are crabs, not bugs. If you want to get super technical, most "bug" types aren't "true bugs". Maybe bug just means "Creepy crawly/insectoid/arthropod type of pokemon"
Pineco is based off of bagworms, which aren't bugs either, but he is more than just a pinecone --- R-truth Used Somersault Senton! Miz avoided the attack! R-truth kept going and crashed! R-truth fainted!
