That was a close one. I'm gonna admit, for a moment there I thought you weren't gonna make it.

I didn't win :V I think I accidentally screwed myself over with that second Toxic on Wobb. I didn't mean to, honest; I meant to Protect again.

That was super fun, though.

You use a Sableye =)

Not bad! You had some crucial misses with that lilligant guy but you both played very well. As a beginner you shouldn't really care about laddering, just have fun. Once you get the hang of it and know more about the Pokemon, you'll have a much easier time

I'm beginning competitive as well, I only do random. Maybe I'll make a team soon.

Just one thing I want to point out regarding what you did in the battle. Starmie has natural cure unless you made the mistake of giving it illuminate. I wouldn't have waited for Starmie to get unfrozen when it would have on switch in.

Personally, even for a rain team, I feel four waters is a bit much (two of my favorites in Gyarados and Starmie no less), especially when you didn't really compensate for the electric weakness. Electric is kind of necessary on teams in OU with the amounts of water and flying types in the tier.

Good first game.
Now, just learn from your mistakes,

Here's a tip. Ninjasks ALMOST ALWAYS do the same thing. They come in, use protect, maybe use swords dance, and then baton pass into something scary. Plan around that.

So I should use Starmie's Thunderbolt for this, yes? That sounds scary 0_o

Honestly, that's what Ninjask does best. A strategy I found useful for this is to set yourself up when they are busy with the protect and swords dance. Then, hit them on the switch. I find Gyarados/Salamence setting up a few dances to be useful in this situation.

Occasionally, it will substitute. If this happens, keep on the offense to prevent the next Pokemon from being behind a sub with all those stat boosts.

Part of the reason why I don't play in OU. It's such a boring tier <_<

You find too many cut and paste teams, honestly. I use monotype teams a lot in standard OU. I usually do pretty well with a few of them.

This taught me that status effects will make my team cry. I'm about to steal that Vaporeon real quick >_>

A piece of advice. When you're burnt or poisoned. Don't bother with protect, even with leftovers. You're contributing to your defeat that way. I saw one point in there where Ninetales had a bit of HP left when, even in the sun, Politoed could have fainted it, but you used protect.

I have to agree with this guy. I've been battling competitively for about 1 1/2 years and still don't care about laddering. I, like most other people, still make mistakes in battling.
