Gens 6-10 emulate gens 1-5.

6- 151~ Pokemon, new ideas that feel refreshing
7. Few Pokemon, baby Pokemon, two regions
8. Revamp on graphics a bit, two bad teams, gen 3 remakes
9. prevo, and evos for everybody!!, gen 4 remakes
10. Whatever gen 6 does.

I enjoyed Team Aqua, hush you.
I mean, obviously their plan was stupid, as was Team Magma's.

If Gen IX were like IV, I think I would cry. I mean in overall game feel; I have no problem with most of the evos, and the prevos are pretty harmless. The not so fleshed out legendaries were meh, but oh well.

Oh no, Gen 9. God Pokemon now has a God Pokemon with 9001 BST. Oh crap.

Gen VII would make me sad. I wasn't fond of Gen III, but I think I would receive Gen VIII better because of improved hardware. That old soundfont really kills me.

The trend as we've seen it seems to be something else entirely - odd-numbered gens get large numbers of new Pokemon, while even-numbered gens get fewer Pokemon and a lot of them are (pr)evos. The only Pokemon ever introduced in an odd-numbered gen related to Pokemon from older gens are Azurill and Wynaut.

On the one hand, LOL patterns in Pokemon.

On the other, Sylveon's reveal is actually kinda sticking to pattern.

I wouldn't mind. As long as they kept adding new and interesting Pokemon and new and fun gameplay mechanics I'd be fine with them following that pattern.

This. Also I though Gen 5 was the start of the repeat... soo

Gen 5 is Gen 1 (New pokemon only.)
Gen 6 is Gen 2 (Mix of new pokemon and (pr)evos of older pokemon)
Gen 7 is Gen 3 (A lot of New pokemon and two prevos)
Gen 8 is Gen 4 (A lot of (pr)evo's and a few new pokemon)
Gen 9 is Gen 5/ (New pokemon only. Old pokemon can't be found until after E4.)

Gen 9 will have sequels too.
