last week i stumbled across a youtube video describing the basics of breeding, IVs and EVs...
my mind was blown. i hadn't played pokemon since third grade and i had no clue these existed. so i dusted off my old copy of emerald and i can't believe how adaptive this game is i enjoyed this game ten years ago and now i'm enjoying all the number manipulation that i didnt even know you could do.
tldr: pokemon is magical. --- A Mod/Admin replied on 8/28/2011 10:09:48 AM: http://bit.ly/jJ2ZNS Katawa Shoujo changed my life. http://katawa-shoujo.com/
Hmm, not sure. I knew since yellow that "all pokemon are different" and that "trainer pokemon are stronger," but I don't think I knew the specifics until gen 4, when my friend started EV training --- Currently awaiting: Pikmin 3, Lunar Knights 2, LM:DM, AC:NL, XY, X, WW HD, LoZ U, LR:FFXIII, FFVXIII Skarmory would slap the hell outta you
Long before I even got my first game (SoulSilver). --- I'm not easily impressed; I'm usually oblivious to whatever's in front of me. Stunfisk is the epitome of monstrous majestic legendary creatures that spew fire.
3rd gen, but still didn't get the true complexities of the system, all i knew was if i kill X amount of Y then i should have a boost of Z stats near/at level 100; i don't battle competitively though. --- RSN: Plucky9, Total: 2356 KoL: Plucky, currently a Avatar of Jarlsberg
I knew about IVs back in the first two gens (when they were DVs) because I started to get interested in hacking and such. I'm not sure if I knew about EVs (or Stat EXP). Really, it was more of a passing interest; I knew what they were, and a little bit about how they worked, but not much else.
Then when gen 3 came out and the IV and EV systems were overhauled, I got a lot more into the intricacies of how they worked, made my own IV calculators, stuff like that. --- THAT'S MISS HOME ROWED TO YOU eyes glazed like a mirror to heaven
