Metagame question

#1Swiftblade09Posted 3/29/2013 9:43:02 PM
So could someone please give a brief description of the metagames for each tier? The only tiers I know well are OU and Ubers and I want to branch out.

By "brief description" are you talking about which Pokemon are used, standard teams/strats, just the actual list (UU Vs. RU Vs. NU/etc.)? Because I'm not exactly clear on what you're wanting on said subject.

That really doesn't define anything.

For instance if we're talking UU, I've ran Death Gambit (AKA Final Gambit) teams that worked quite well in said tier. (Back at the start of fifth gen tier reset for PO)

If you're wnating some generally highly used team set ups or highly used Pokemon, aside from the already recommended Smogon, there's really not much to say.

Edit: Or checking into common threats/etc.

I actually have a question about the metagame as well, but it's more of a theorymon. If there were a Steel/Poison type pokemon, with at least workable bulk and defensive moveset, how good would it be?

First at TC:

For instance at the threats idea:

Anyway, back onto this message.

It depends on what you mean by workable bulk, for instance a 100/100/100 (HP/DF/SPDF) bulk would quite vary in comparison to something that has 125/85/75. And the movepool would need to be very wide or open to make it decent.

4X weak to Ground, really hurts. Sure neutral to Psychic, Fighting, and a few other weaknesses, but it would still retain Ground/Fire weakness. (Again which Ground is 4X) which in and of itself is bad, considering how many general Pokemon learn EQ.

Given if it had Sub it could be decently nasty with a 100/100/100 set, I doubt it'd be much further than UU. Even then I'm doubting even that. (Probably more like RU) but that's without real specifics.
