Has anyone done a "second chance" rule in their Nuzlocke?

I personally think that cheapens the experience but I have heard of a "Rescue card" rule which I've been tempted to use plenty of times.

Second Chance rule - You buy only 2-3 revives to use at your leisure throughout the challenge. I can see using this on your starter or tank-mon but still I feel it cheapens the challenge.

Rescue Card - Getting a second wind if you black/white out. I followed a Nuzzy once where everyone reading was really getting into it and someone brought up American Idle and their "Rescue Card" thing where if a singer is eliminated they get to rescue them ONCE per season from elimination. Needless to say everyone said use the "rescue card" to keep the challenge going but eventually lost again.

The only sub-rule I follow is no legendaries, freebies, or trading.

Sometimes, when a wild pokemon critical hits, I soft reset. I'm not proud of it, but I'm losing way too many pokemon and I have a dwindling supply of males.

I don't understand the need for rescue card. White out=Game over isn't even a standard rule it's an optional one.

I have a "Necromancy rule", exchange the lives of 3 pokes (release/ perma box) to bring back 1 from the graveyard box.

But only because I'm not doing it for the challenge but for the comics because I want to draw my team/favorite pokes for a long time.

I've thought about having a second chance rule but with a twist: you can't use a revive or the poke center for the fallen poke, you have to use a rare candy instead. This will limit the amount of second chances to the number of rare candies in the game, barring someone spamming the Pick Up ability...

Hmm I like this rule. Might use it.

I stumbled into a brutal doubles battle early in the game, in my first W2 run. I allowed myself a second chance, but gave up a few hours later, because it felt wrong.

Second time, though, I stuck to it, and it felt a lot more rewarding.

I've been allowing myself to catch more Pokemon than just the first one in area, though. I've let myself catch something new every time the capture table changes, so dark grass and clouds of dust have been valid.
