Or is it just Sand Rush?

"Everything" Excadrill is banned.

Excadrill as a whole is banned.

Complex bans are against Smogon's policy.

Gahh, it was going to be a good addition to my theoretical OU Sandstorm team.

You can use Sand Rush Sandslash, or Stoutland.

I don't even why if one part of a Pokemon is Uber, all of it is. Blaziken is a great example. It went from UU to Uber with Speed Boost alone. I don't think most OU/UU foes are going to complain if you have a Blaze Blaziken on your team.

I was considering Sandslash. My team was going to be (still in planning, too lazy to give all info): Tyranitar, Excadrill, Reuniclus, Ferrothorn, Gliscor, and an undetermined 6th.

Because its a slippery slope and if you allow one ability to break a ban then you have to consider every ability for every pokemon ranking. So you'd have to do something like Volt Absorb Lanturn = OU, Illuminate Lanturn = UU. Prankster Sableye = OU, Keen Eye Sableye = NU, and so on. For every pokemon that has one ability thats more useful than another, there would be people wanting to use it in lower tiers if they used the worse ability instead.

This, basically. Contrary to popular belief, the staff at Smogon is not a bunch of neckbeards.

They have lives, and tiering every Pokemon + ability combination separately is just too time-consuming. It already takes a month to decide whether or not a Pokemon gets banned.

Try talking to your opponent beforehand and seeing if they're fine with it.

also see the other posts about complex bans.
