Which gen had your favorite starters?

Gen 3 because Swampert

3>1>2>4>5
Based on what I've seen in gen 6 it could easily bump itself between 1and 2

Gen 2. They were all pure. No Fire/Fighting X3 (or maybe X4 if Fennekin decides to don boxing gloves for it's evos).

I am a bit biased though seeing Gen 2 was my first gen.

I don't know for sure, I really like both the gen1 and gen3 starters.

1 > 3 = 4 > 2 > 5

Gen 3 and 4 took the starters in unique directions. Gen 2 had very plain starters (who were still cool looking). Gen 5 Starters were lame and uninspired (Fire/Fighting).

3 > 4 > 1 > 5 > 2

Gen 3: all viable options, but Swampert is beast.
Gen 4: pretty decent, Infernape is great.
Gen 1: meh, but at least Charizard could learn Fly so it was useful.
Gen 5: meh again, Samurott's decent.
Gen 2: don't like any of them much, Typhlosion's alright.
