Which gen had your favorite starters?

Since my favorite stater of all time is Treecko (since Sceptile is one of my favorite Pokemon), I will go with III because I also like Mudkip and I remember when everyone thought Blaziken was a legendary. Lol.

I loved Generation III, mostly because of Treecko, who I always chose.

Although I did like the cute Torchic, who looked awesome as Blaziken.

Of course, technically I should say Generation I - Pikachu was the only one I recall being legitimately obtainable as a "starter" in Pokemon Yellow. I just love Pikachu more than the rest.

My favourites are Gen 3. It's the only region where I adore every starter. The Treeko line was amazing for its good design, the Torchic line was good for its power, and Swampert was a previous favourite Pokemon of mine.

Straight up Gen3.
Swampert is my favorite starter of all time....but Blaziken and Sceptile also happen to be my favorite starters of their respective types too.

In terms of starters. for me, it's:

3 > 4 = 5 >2 = 1

Gen6 seems likely to be equal to 4 and 5 for me.

Gen IV. Penguin in a Tux is so badass. Torterra and Infernape both look badass to the extreme while the other gens only have normal badass

Gen IV.

All with good typings that pretty much said, "**** you, type chain!", pretty good stats on all ends for in-game purposes, nice designs.

Hell, Gen IV made Torterra; that's all I need to say.

Gen 3: all viable options, but Swampert is beast.
Gen 4: pretty decent, Infernape is great.
Gen 1: meh, but at least Charizard could learn Fly so it was useful.
Gen 5: meh again, Samurott's decent.
Gen 2: don't like any of them much, Typhlosion's alright.

Charizard couldn't learn fly till Yellow version.

What about FireRed and LeafGreen, the Generation I remakes?

But I see your point. =P

Gen 4

I also really liked how all of them evolved into dual-typed Pokemon.
