Hoping Gamefreak tones down the Water types this gen

We just have so many of them at this point. Other types need a little love.
I mean maybe they do that because water is so abundant on Earth, but still.

They won't. If anything, they'll make them even more powerful.

I would love to see less of the top 3 types (Water, Normal, Flying) but I doubt it will happen.

I wouldn't mind if they made fewer water type Pokemon, but the water routes need to have more variety than they currently do. Unova's routes was boring with how just about every route had only one or two Pokemon available by surfing, and most of the time it was Basculin. You didn't even get the Super Rod till after you beat the game...

Need fewer water Pokemon... need more ghost Pokemon.

Let's just pretend this says something witty.

They toned down the water types in Gen 5, though, I think.

You're forgetting the best one (and another not-so-good one).

Gen I: 32 Water types per 151 Pokémon, 21.19%
Gen V: 17 Water types per 156 Pokémon, 10.89%

I think it's a move in the right direction.
